Automation pushes back the frontiers
With KUKA Toledo Production Operations, set up specially for body production, KUKA is already exceptionally well positioned to meet the automotive requirements of tomorrow. An innovative operator model has been agreed with the Chrysler Group, for example. Complete vehicle bodies for the successor model to the legendary Jeep® Wrangler are produced in Toledo, Ohio, on state-of-the-art KUKA production lines. Invoicing is carried out per manufactured unit on a "pay-on-production" basis.

Automation preserves life
Based on KUKA robotic technology, the Cyberknife is the world's first, and so far only, robot-controlled radiosurgery system to be developed for treatment of solid tumors in any part of the human body. This system can be used to treat patients with sub-millimeter precision and without operations, pain or the need to stay in hospital. A digital imaging system keeps the tumor permanently in the cross hairs, thus minimizing damage to healthy tissue.

Automation is fun
The KUKA "Robocoaster" is the only industrial robot in the world with a license to carry passengers. With a perfect combination of materials research, robot mechanical system and control technology, it demonstrates on a daily basis the performance capabilities of today's automation solutions, even in extreme situations: maximum possible acceleration and speed. For maximum fun. Combined with uncompromising safety for visitors to the world's largest amusement parks.
