On March 3, 2009, Munich-based US Consul General Eric Nelson visited KUKA Aktiengesellschaft in Augsburg.
Nelson was particularly interested in the current business performance of KUKA Group's US subsidiaries. Dr. Horst J. Kayser, CEO of KUKA AG, gave him an in-depth update of current KUKA Systems and KUKA Robotics projects in North America. During the subsequent tour, the general consul was briefed on the current manufacturing, product innovation and development situation at the company.
During the visit, Nelson stressed that he welcomed KUKA Group's strong commitment to the United States and expressed hope that the company would intensify its activities there. “The strong ties between KUKA AG and the US are a perfect example of the outstanding economic cooperation between Bavaria and the United States. The US is Bavaria’s most important trade partner. Direct investments on both sides create tens of thousands of jobs for highly skilled workers. With its range of technologically advanced products, the KUKA Group and its US subsidiaries are well equipped to continue this success story.” |
