Dual studies in Project engineering

Interdisciplinary study course combining mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and business management, during which the skills of process management, process planning, industrial automation and quality management are taught as part of the "Technical management" discipline
 

Objective

Developing the competence to take action and make decisions based on in-depth technical and business knowledge.
Developing the ability to participate in interdisciplinary and international projects, and to manage these.

Target group

Highly capable and motivated school-leavers with high school diploma or equivalent matriculation requirements for university of applied sciences

Qualification offered

Bachelor of Engineering (BA) after 6 semesters

Training company: KUKA Systems GmbH, Augsburg
Heidenheim University of Cooperative Education

 

Company-based training

The six-month teaching blocks at the university of cooperative education are alternated with six months spent at the company. 

Practical phase in the first year:
Learning basic manual and machine skills
Familiarization with the company processes and organization
Development, test, production, controlling, quality management in the company

Practical phase in the second year:
Project management, guided project work, independent project work, ergonomics

Practical phase in the third year:
Project-based engineering work
Bachelor thesis

Studies at the university of cooperative education

Theoretical phase in the first and second years:
Basic engineering, computer science, business management and interdisciplinary skills

Theoretical phase in the third year:
Advanced teaching in the application-oriented subjects: Basic engineering, computer science, business management, methods of project and quality management, methods of management and human resources, processes, automation systems and system theory

Dates

From October 2011: Application to training company 
By 31 July 2012: Application to university of cooperative education
1 October 2012: Start of studies at the university of cooperative education
